Updates
July 8 - Report: Juventus in talks with Chelsea to sign Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku is a man in demand in Italy as the Chelsea forward is wanted by Inter Milan and now Juventus.

According to a report from our partners in the UK at Sky Sports , Juventus are in talks with Chelsea to sign Lukaku. The Belgian forward, 30, spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and it was expected that he would head back to Inter on loan or on a permanent basis once again this season.

Per the report, Juventus want to sign Lukaku and Inter have ‘yet to make a satisfactory offer offer to Chelsea’ and need to sell players before they can spend. With Andre Onana expected to join Manchester United next week, perhaps that unlocks the funds for Inter to sign Lukaku?

Amid interest from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, it is believed that Lukaku prefers to stay in Italy and he has previously spoken about his love for Inter. Surely he wouldn’t play for Juve, right? It doesn’t seem like Lukaku has a future at Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino but if things aren’t sorted out soon, Pochettino has said that Lukaku is expected back at Chelsea by July 12-13 to start preseason training.

July 8 - Report: Chelsea, AC Milan agree fee for Christian Pulisic

It appears that Christian Pulisic is extremely close to sealing his move to AC Milan from Chelsea.

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Milan have agreed to pay a transfer fee of $24 million plus $2.2 million in add ons to Chelsea. There is also reportedly a sell-on clause in the deal so Chelsea would receive a percentage of any future transfer fee Milan receive for the American winger.

For many weeks now it has seemed like Milan was the best option for Pulisic and it was his preferred destination as personal terms were agreed easily. This is a chance for the 24-year-old to play regularly in a league which suits his skill-set perfectly, while he will be playing in the Champions League too and if he can stay free of injuries, he should become a star in Milan.

It remains to be seen where he will play for AC Milan as Rafael Leao currently operates on the left wing but Pulisic is versatile and can play centrally or on the right if needed. As for his time at Chelsea, well, it just never went as expected. Aside from his brilliant performances during the Blues’ run to win the Champions League in 2021, Pulisic’s four-year stay at Stamford Bridge was blighted by injuries and constant managerial changes.

July 6 - Chelsea has interest in Arsenal, USMNT striker Balogun

Folarin Balogun has been linked with big names in France, the Netherlands, and Italy after his big loan season away from Arsenal, but could his next club be inside the Premier League?

Chelsea is said to have interest in the USMNT striker following his breakout year with Reims, and has reportedly started talks with his representatives . Balogun, 21, scored his age in goals last season but returns to an Arsenal side with Gabriel Jesus and others in a loaded attack force.

Gregg Berhalter hopes that Balogun is the answer to the USMNT’s striker question heading into Copa America and with a home World Cup not too far in the distance. A move to Chelsea would seemingly present road blocks with Christopher Nkunku especially with the Blues’ empty European dance card this summer.

Balogun will back himself wherever he goes, but surely there are better bets for him this summer?

July 4 - Mason Mount confirms Chelsea exit

Mason Mount has confirmed his exit from Chelsea as he posted an emotional farewell video on social media. Mount, 24, is expected to be announced as a Manchester United player in the coming hours as the England international leaves Chelsea after 18 years with the Blues. After joining Chelsea at the age of six Mount has gone on to win the Champions League and become a valuable player and fans’ favorite at Stamford Bridge. But now he’s heading to Old Trafford and in his farewell message he acknowledged this is what he wanted to take the. next step in his career. Only time will tell whether or not Mount has made the right decision but the attacking midfielder has certainly made a big call and now he will focus on nailing down a starting spot in Erik ten Hag’s midfield.

July 4 - Chelsea keen to re-sign Tino Livramento

Chelsea are continuing to make moves as their huge rebuild continues and they could bring Tino Livramento back to Stamford Bridge.

According to a report from The Daily Mail , Chelsea will offer $48 million to Southampton for Livramento, 20. The attacking right back has been the subject of several bids from Newcastle this summer but Southampton are keen to keep hold of the England U21 star who was excellent in his debut Premier League campaign in the 2021-22 season before suffering a serious knee injury which kept him out for the majority of last season.

Livramento has incredible potential and Chelsea sold him to Southampton for $10 million in the summer of 2021. Per the report, Chelsea would be open to loaning Livramento back to Southampton for the upcoming season.

July 3 - Lyon make bid for Christian Pulisic; AC Milan remains preferred destination

USMNT star Christian Pulisic is the subject of a lot of interest as his time at Chelsea comes to an end. With just one year left on his current contract, it’s safe to say now is a good time for Pulisic to move on after and topsy-turvy four years at Stamford Bridge. According to a report from The Athletic Lyon have bid $27.2 million to Chelsea for the USMNT star but a report from ESPN says that the Pulisic would prefer a move to AC Milan and that Lyon could not match the wages Milan are offering to the American winger. Per the initial report from the London Evening Standard , Milan have been in talks with Chelsea to sign Pulisic but it is believed the stumbling block so far has been the transfer fee but they are working towards a deal. And another report from ESPN says that Pulisic has agreed a ‘long-term contract’ with Milan and is just waiting for the two clubs to agree that pesky transfer fee. All of this adds up to one thing: Pulisic prefers a move to AC Milan over Lyon as the former are in the UEFA Champions League. It is also a better fit for Pulisic’s playing style and although Lyon are a fine club, Milan are way ahead of them in terms of history, fanbase and their current playing squad. If Chelsea and AC Milan can’t agree a transfer fee then Pulisic will have to look elsewhere but it doesn’t appear he wants to head to France.

July 1 - Chelsea push to sign Moises Caicedo

Chelsea are pushing to sign Brighton and Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo, as Mauricio Pochettino continues his massive rebuild of the Blues squad. According to a report from the London Evening Standard , Chelsea are focused on signing Caicedo but Brighton want close to $130 million for the central midfielder. Chelsea have already had a bid of $76 million turned down but per the report Chelsea hope a fee of around $100 million could get the deal done. Caicedo would be the perfect N’Golo Kante replacement in midfield and alongside Enzo Fernandez they would win the ball back quickly and use it wisely. That is perfect for the way new boss Pochettino will ask them to play.

June 30 - Agreement in place for Christian Pulisic transfer to AC Milan

According to a report from ESPN FC , Christian Pulisic has agreed terms for a contract with AC Milan, as the Serie A side and Chelsea continue to haggle over the final few million of the transfer fee. Chelsea began negotiations at $27 million, with AC Milan hoping for a $16-million bargain buy.

June 30 - CONFIRMED: Ruben Loftus-Cheek to AC Milan

June 28 - Arsenal confirm Kai Havertz signing

June 28 - Mason Mount decision to be made soon

Okay, it appears we are about to get somewhere with the Mason Mount saga and find out where he will be next season. A report from Fabrizio Romano says that Manchester United and Chelsea will sit down for more talks over the England international. He believes that Manchester United will sign Mount if Chelsea agree to a fee of $70 million. With one year left on his deal, that is a lot of money for Mount and Chelsea should do this deal. Considering all of the players they have let go this summer and the players already arriving under Mauricio Pochettino’s rebuild, it is better for Chelsea to move Mount on quickly and get a very decent transfer free for the academy product.

June 27 - AC Milan in talks with Chelsea to sign Christian Pulisic

According to a report from the London Evening Standard , AC Milan are in talks with Chelsea to sign Christian Pulisic. With Milan close to signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek too, and already having great success with signing Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud from Chelsea in recent years, it appears the West London to Milan pipeline is in full-flow once again. Pulisic, 24, has just one year left on his current contract at Chelsea and it is highly-likely he will move on this summer. The report says that Chelsea still want $32 million for Pulisic which is putting clubs off, including AC Milan, as talks continue. Mauricio Pochettino has added Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in attack as Chelsea rebuild under their new manager. Is a move to Italy good for Pulisic? Probably. It seems like a good tactical fit and the American winger will be able to build up minutes but probably not on the left flank as that is where Portuguese superstar Rafael Leao operates. This seems like a move which will work out well for everyone and it is time for Pulisic to move on from his time at Chelsea. Yes, he was pivotal in their amazing run to win the UEFA Champions League in 2021 but aside from a few incredible flashes his time at Chelsea has been disappointing for all involved.

June 25 - Nicolas Jackson deal nearing completion with reported medical

The deal for Chelsea to sign promising Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal is close to completion. Jackson had an incredible finish to last season in La Liga and is exactly the kind of player Mauricio Pochettino loves to work with to take to the next level. The young forward will line up alongside Christopher Nkunku next season and they will provide direct running, pace, pressing and finishing.

This Chelsea side is going to be fun to watch and Jackson is set for a big role in the Blues’ rebuild, as he’s reportedly completed a medical.

June 21 - Man City agree $38-million transfer fee with Chelsea for Mateo Kovacic

The Chelsea exodus continues, as the Blues look to offload yet another large contract owed to a veteran figure of the squad. According to transfer news reports out of the UK, three-time defending Premier League champions Manchester City have agreed a $38-million fee to sign midfielder Mateo Kovacic. The 29-year-old Croatian international has just one year remaining on his current contract, with new manager Mauricio Pochettino set to embark upon his first season in charge and a bloated squad which must be trimmed for financial and registration purposes. June 20 - Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea finally confirmed

This deal has been done for a very, very long time and Chelsea have finally confirmed that Christopher Nkunku has signed for them. Nkunku, 25, has signed a six-year contract as Todd Boehly and Co. continue to offer extremely lengthy deals to most of their new signings. Nkunku will be a key forward in Mauricio Pochettino’s rebuild and the French international will be perfect in pressing high and making the most of mistakes in the defensive third. He will play the Heung-min Son role from Pochettino’s time at Spurs.

“I am incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea. A big effort was made to bring me to the club and I am looking forward to meeting my new coach and teammates and showing the Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch,” Nkunku said. “Having played in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, I now want to play in the Premier League, one of the strongest leagues in the world. I am very excited for this challenge and will be proud to wear the Chelsea shirt.” (JPW)
