  • CIN Punter #10
Huber, who joined the Bengals in 2009, was among the league’s most reliable punters over his lengthy tenure in Cincinnati. The Bengals released Huber, 37, last December after consistent struggles over the season’s first few months. Drue Chrisman and Brad Robbins will compete for the Bengals’ punting job this summer.
  • CIN Running Back #28
It’s finally out in the open that Mixon needs to agree to a pay cut to retain his roster spot, but it is highly unclear how steep of a reduction the Bengals are seeking. Dehner accurately reports that the true deadline for a decision is the Tuesday before Week 1 when veteran salaries become guaranteed, but it’s safe to assume the Bengals want to know their backfield plans before cut-down week. A resolution early in camp seems most likely. Trayveon Williams and Day 3 rookie Chase Brown are the next men up in the Bengals’ backfield. Our money would be on Brown despite the Bengals’ offseason Williams hype.
  • CIN Running Back #28
Dehner starts by saying the Bengals “still really like what he brings to the table,” but that Cincinnati knows that Mixon’s contract is an outlier compared to this year’s salaries and that they believe they’ll tap into the “veteran backwaters” if Mixon doesn’t agree to a salary adjustment. “His situation hasn’t come to a head yet,” writes Dehner Jr. It’s likely that the Bengals will roll out an extension to Joe Burrow before figuring out the rest of their contract talks this offseason. Mixon, who has picked up some ADP steam since leaving the draft as the best real option on the roster, still is a logical cut candidate if the sides can’t agree on a pay cut.

  • CIN Cornerback #22
Awuzie reportedly looked “incredible” working on the side in offseason activities. Will he be available immediately in training camp? Dehner Jr. writes “he doesn’t plan on rushing anything even if he’s ready early in camp.” Awuzie probably has a fair chance of starting off working on the side, but the tone seems optimistic about him coming back from his ACL tear sooner rather than later.

  • CIN Tackle #73
A dislocated kneecap sidelined Williams in the AFC Divisional Round and AFC Championship game in January, but it looks likely that he’ll be ready for camp. Williams will switch from left tackle to right tackle this year to accommodate new signing Orlando Brown, and it appears he’ll enter his fifth-year option season playing for a new contract.

  • FA Running Back #33
If you assumed Hill was already retired, guess again. Despite not taking a regular season snap since 2018, Hill was apparently keeping the door open for a return for the last four seasons, but nothing ever materialized. After rushing for 2,757 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first three seasons with the Bengals, Hill’s final two years in the league were marred with injuries, including a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 1 of 2018 in his lone season with the Patriots. He received several tryouts after that season, and briefly signed with the Raiders in 2020, but never fully bounced back from his injury.

  • CIN Quarterback #9
“I’m pretty clear on what I want in the contract and what I think is best for myself and the team,” Burrow added. “So, we’re on the road to making that happen.” Cincinnati’s franchise quarterback looks able to command top of the market money from the Bengals if he desires. He and Justin Herbert are the remaining two quarterbacks from this offseason’s four market-setting extensions. Lamar Jackson one-upped Jalen Hurts with $52 million per year in his contract, signed after Hurts’, and holds the non-Deshaun Watson guaranteed record at $135 million.

  • CIN Tackle #73
Conway notes that the Jaguars “had real interest” in trading for Williams earlier this offseason, but the Bengals ultimately decided to keep him on the team. Williams’ move to right tackle comes after the Bengals signed left tackle Orlando Brown earlier this offseason. On the whole, this is a move that should benefit the Bengals across the board, as they now have two veteran tackles starting experience, and Williams would become the first player to move back to left tackle should Brown ever miss time.

  • CIN EDGE
Murphy ran an explosive 4.53 40-yard dash in this year’s combine and boasts a 9.71 RAS. The former Clemson Tiger totaled 18.5 sacks and 36 TFLs for his career and was an early declare after three collegiate seasons. His arrival is a welcomed addition to a Bengals team that has steadily improved on the defensive side of the ball over the last two seasons but ranked 29th in total sacks last season. Murphy and EDGE Trey Hendrickson could quickly form one of the league’s more lethal pass-rushing duos this upcoming season.

  • KC Quarterback #15
The NFL announced on Wednesday announced a rematch between last year’s AFC finalists. Kansas City edged out the Bengals, 23-20, in a low-scoring affair in last year’s AFC title game before they took down the Eagles in the Super Bowl. Joe Burrow had a relatively lackluster game against KC in the AFC championship, throwing for 270 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Mahomes, meanwhile, finished with 326 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals had upset the Chiefs in December, shutting down Mahomes and the KC passing attack.
