Dollander was universally-regarded as a potential top-five pick heading into the spring, but inconsistent performance in his final collegiate season pushed him further back into the middle of the first round. The 21-year-old right-hander’s arsenal consists of a mid-90’s fastball, which he pairs nicely with a mid-80’s sweeper, which has become all the rage this season in the big leagues. There’s almost zero concern that he won’t pan out as a mid-rotation starter, but his stuff took a bit of a step back this spring, which caused his draft stock to slip quite a bit. There’s a chance the Rockies believe they can unlock something with his fastball, which would make him an elite pitching prospect again. He’s the classic high-floor, low-risk collegiate pitching prospect, and could be making an impact for fantasy managers as early as the 2024 campaign — though his landing spot at Coors Field obviously isn’t ideal for fantasy purposes.

Freeland had issued a one-out walk to Casey Schmitt in the seventh inning, then Brett Wisely attempted to bunt him over to second base. Freeland dove in an attempt to catch the ball and injured his right shoulder in the process. He’ll head for further evaluation. Prior to exiting, Freeland had allowed just one run on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings — though he’s still responsible for the two runners on base. The Rockies should have an update on his status shortly.

Grichuk has started the last six games for the Rockies but will head to the bench on Sunday. The 31-year-old hasn’t flashed much power this season but is hitting .294/.359/.453 while playing mostly every day for Colorado. Brenton Doyle will bat ninth and play center field in his place.

Wynn has spent the last two months as Elias Díaz’s backup after brief stints with the Giants and Dodgers earlier this year. He’s batting just .207/.254/.293 in 64 plate appearances, but his glove is pretty good.

Tovar put Colorado ahead for good in a low-scoring tractor pull out in San Francisco with a seventh-inning blast off side-winding right-hander Tyler Rogers. It was his ninth round-tripper of the season and first time he’s gone deep since June 30.

It was undoubtedly a special moment for Bard, who missed time at the outset of the regular season for mental health reasons, as he picked up his first save since last October. There haven’t been a ton of save chances recently for the Rockies, but Bard figures to be in the mix moving forward.

Gomber limited San Franciso’s lineup to just five hits as a two-run homer by Brandon Crawford accounted for all of the damage against him in this one. He finished with only one strikeout, but didn’t hand out any free passes. He’ll bring a bloated 6.40 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 61/30 K/BB ratio across 90 innings (18 starts) into the All-Star break.

Cron belted a solo homer off rookie starter J.P. France in the sixth inning for his seventh long ball of the year. It was the first time he’s gone deep since April 30. The 33-year-old veteran slugger has been limited to just 44 games this season due to injury and has been a colossal disappointment for fantasy managers.

Anderson coughed up a pair of homers to Yainer Diaz and a two-run shot to Jeremy Peña over four frames to fall to 0-4 this season. The 35-year-old journeyman finishes the first half with a bloated 6.89 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 37/17 K/BB ratio across 49 2/3 innings (12 appearances, 10 starts). Needless to say, he’s not a recommended fantasy option moving forward.

Doyle is hitting a modest .212/.269/.358 in 183 plate appearances, though he does give the defense quite a lift when he’s in center field. Deserved or not, he could continue to take a backseat for now, as the Rockies are hoping to see Grichuk generate some trade value in advance of the deadline.
