Jordan Goodwin

Jordan Goodwin did not participate in Sunday’s practice due to a sore left knee.

Goodwin started and played 18 minutes in his unofficial Suns’ debut on Saturday, an 84-75 loss to the Bucks in Las Vegas. While he certainly wasn’t the big name in the trade with the Wizards that send Bradley Beal to Phoenix, Goodwin is in a position where he could be asked to play rotation minutes next season. The Suns did not make any significant signings at the point guard position, which leaves Goodwin and Cameron Payne as the only available options at present time. Keep an eye on Goodwin, especially if Phoenix’s point guard rotation remains as is.

Jordan Goodwin finished with 12 points (5-for-13 FGs), three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against Milwaukee on Saturday.

Goodwin joined the Suns this summer as part of the Bradley Beal trade, but he was an excellent fantasy option when he got the minutes last season. He was solid in this game, but his night ended early due to soreness in his left knee. He said after the game that he was good, but they likely won’t risk further injury by forcing him to play Summer League games. Regardless, he should be a solid bench player for them this season.
Toumani Camara

Toumani Camara led the Suns with 20 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in am 84-75 loss to the Bucks on Saturday.

Camara is exactly the type of player that Phoenix needed to add to their roster. They selected him with their lone pick in the draft, which was late in the second round. He showcased energy and effort throughout the game, which could allow him to see real minutes as a rookie. They have plenty of scoring on the team, and Camara could contribute to winning immediately.
Isaiah Todd

The Grizzlies are trading three second-round picks to the Suns in exchange for first-round pick swaps in 2024 and 2030 and Isaiah Todd, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Memphis will have the right to swap their first for the less favorable first-round pick between the Suns and Wizards in those years, since Washington will get the more favorable from the Bradley Beal trade. Todd heads to Memphis, but he’ll likely spend the majority of his time in the G-League.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Eric Gordon has agreed to a deal with the Suns.

The terms of the deal are unspecified at this time, but even getting Gordon for a year is a huge accomplishment for Phoenix. The Suns have bolstered their shallow bench and have surrounded Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant with a plethora of three-point shooters. Phoenix is rightfully the betting favorite to win the NBA title in 2024.
Josh Okogie

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, the Suns have agreed to a deal with Josh Okogie.

Okogie may not be a great fantasy asset, but the defensive ability stands to make him a key rotation piece for the Suns given the lack of salary cap space. He appeared in 72 games (26 starts) last season, accounting for 7.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.5 blocks, and 0.9 3-pointers in 18.8 minutes. If Okogie can earn a spot in the starting lineup, he’d be worth a look in deeper leagues. New signing Keita Bates-Diop is also expected to compete for the fifth starter role when training camp begins.
Yuta Watanabe

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Suns have agreed to a deal with Yuta Watanabe.

The Suns have added a capable 3-and-D wing to their roster, and Watanabe was a teammate of Kevin Durant’s in Brooklyn. Watanabe shot a career-high 44.4% from three on 2.3 attempts per game last season, and getting up clean perimeter shots in that rotation should not be much of an issue. While he isn’t someone fantasy managers should have on their draft boards, Watanabe will be worth keeping an eye on next season.
Damion Lee

PHX Shooting Guard #10

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Damion Lee will remain with the Suns on a two-year deal.

The second year of the deal is a player option. Lee gives the Suns additional depth on the wing, but it’s unlikely that he’ll get the minutes needed to be an asset in fantasy leagues.
Chimezie Metu

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Chimezie Metu has agreed to a one-year deal with the Suns.

The Suns have revamped their big man rotation behind Deandre Ayton, signing Metu and Drew Eubanks to deals in the first hour of free agency. Metu spent the last three seasons in Sacramento, appearing in 66 games off the bench during the 2022-23 campaign. He didn’t offer much fantasy value with the Kings, and that’s unlikely to change in Phoenix, but he will give the Suns needed depth in the frontcourt.
Keita Bates-Diop

PHX Small Forward #31

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns have signed Keita Bates-Diop to a two-year deal worth $5 million.

Bates-Diop’s contract includes a player option for the second year of the deal. According to Wojnarowski, KBD will be given the opportunity to compete for a starting forward spot. If Bates-Diop can land that role, he’d be worth a look in the late rounds of standard drafts, as the star-studded Suns will need someone to do the “dirty work.” That said, he’s averaging just 0.5 steals, 0.3 blocks, and 0.5 3-pointers per game as a pro. Fantasy managers will need to keep their expectations in check here.
