With Fred VanVleet agreeing to a three-year deal with the Rockets, Toronto was suddenly in dire need of a point guard. Enter Schroder, who served as the Lakers’ starting point guard for most of last season. He started 50 of the 66 games he appeared in, averaging 12.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.1 3-pointers in 30.1 minutes. Schroder wasn’t the most efficient scorer, as he made just over 41% of his shots from the field, but the move to Toronto gives him a shot at fantasy relevance. The Raptors can run some of their offense through Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam, but this transaction gives Schroder an opportunity that would not have been available with the Lakers.
