Davis spent the majority of his rookie season in the G-League, and his time in the NBA wasn’t very pretty. He has upside to be a good scorer, and he should get the chance to on a lottery-bound team this season. He started off Summer League with a solid performance, but he doesn’t project as a player that will impact 12-team leagues this season.

Coulibaly’s debut wasn’t very flashy, but he was still able to showcase his upside. He wasn’t very involved offensively at times, but he was able to make an impact defensively, even if it didn’t show up in the box score. He’s an incredibly young player, and he’ll get the chance to develop on a team that will be heading back to the lottery. His first NBA action provided some encouragement.

With Jordan Poole and Tyus Jones on the roster now, Washington doesn’t have much use for Morris now. They didn’t get much value back in comparison to his talent, but the move does free up minutes for Delon Wright off the bench. Morris will look to compete for minutes with the Pistons, which may be tough to do with Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Ausar Thompson on the roster.

With the Wizards trading Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis earlier this month, the franchise is clearly in rebuilding mode. But Kuzma will stick around to team up with the likes of Jordan Poole, Tyus Jones, and first-round pick Bilal Coulibaly. Kuzma put up gaudy scoring numbers last season, but the inefficiency limited his fantasy value. While Kuzma is more than capable of putting together a top-100 season, given the current state of the Wizards, fantasy managers could take a hit in the percentages.

Boston traded this pick to Washington, who swung it to Chicago, so Phillips will be joining the Bulls. He was a five-star prospect heading into Tennessee last season, but he really didn’t do much in his lone season for the Vols. He averaged just 8.3 points per game in 24.1 minutes, and he wasn’t a major part of their rotation during their three NCAA tournament games. Despite a lack of college production, Phillips still has enough upside to make him a coveted draft prospect. His athleticism and defensive potential should help him see minutes as a rookie. Chicago didn’t originally have a pick in this draft, but they were able to move some future second round picks to add a young defender to their team. His defense should get him on the floor, but his offense will determine how long he stays there.

Walker is a versatile defender, able to guard multiple positions using his 6’8, 240lb frame. He can play bully ball in the paint, but his mid-range jumper is solid, and his three-point shot improved throughout the season. Walker’s ability to rack up defensive stats should translate well for fantasy hoops managers, and his scoring and rebounding abilities are just icing on the cake. The Pacers were able to acquire some future second round picks while moving down one spot and still were able to fill a need at power forward. Walker should play a massive role as a rookie, since he won’t face much competition for minutes.

Wow. While Paul did not appear to be long for Washington after he was sent there in the Bradley Beal trade, this was a move few expected. The expectation of many was that CP3 would ultimately land with the Lakers or Clippers due to their respective needs for a point guard, but he’s headed to the Bay Area instead. While there are injury concerns, adding a Hall of Fame point guard to the mix will help the Warriors in their quest to unseat the Nuggets as the best team in the West (and the NBA). Paul’s fantasy value should hold steady, as he provided third-round, per-game value in 9-cat formats this past season.

As Washington unloads all of their win-now pieces, Morris could be the next to go. It’s unclear who has interest or what it would net them, but it would clear up minutes for a young guard. That could be for Johnny Davis, or a player that they take with the eighth pick in the draft.

Due to a torn ACL suffered while representing Italy last summer, Gallinari didn’t play at all this season. He’s headed to the nation’s capital, and it’s fair to wonder if he’ll be on the roster come opening night. For that reason, it’s difficult to project Gallinari’s fantasy value ahead of next season. Also headed to Washington are Mike Muscala, Tyus Jones, and the 35th overall pick in Thursday’s draft.

Muscala, who was acquired from the Thunder at the trade deadline in February, isn’t the only player headed to Washington in this deal. Danilo Gallinari and Tyus Jones will also be along with the 35th overall pick in Thursday’s draft. Memphis receives Marcus Smart, while Boston gets Kristaps Porzingis and first-round picks in 2023 (25th overall) and 2024 (via Golden State). While Muscala’s fantasy impact was minimal at best last season, he was a solid veteran for the Thunder before he was dealt to the Celtics. That may help keep him on board in Washington as the Wizards embark on a rebuild.
